
BRADENTON, Fla. - On September 12, officers from the Bradenton Police Department rescued a 33-year-old man who was experiencing a mental health crisis in the Manatee River. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. Police obtained a boat from a local owner to reach the man quickly. After several minutes of negotiation, the man agreed to be taken aboard the boat. Officers then transported him to shore and subsequently to the hospital. He had been in the water for at least an hour.
