The funds will be directed to Lilly’s Place, a facility that began by treating infants born with addiction-related withdrawal symptoms due to parental drug exposure. Over the years, Lilly’s Place has broadened its services to assist families dealing with the mental health challenges associated with addiction.
“Lilly’s Place takes them within their arms off the campus of a hospital in a more home-like situation to be able to help with the mental health challenges, with the addiction challenges, with the physical and health issues associated with drug addiction,” Capito stated.
The newly allocated funding aims to enhance mental health services for both patients and first responders, who frequently lack emotional support while addressing drug-related crises.
