The website features a questionnaire that helps users identify the specific services they require, including appointment availability, ages served, languages spoken, and types of insurance accepted.
Mayor Mamdani stated, "With NYC Mental Health Connect, our administration is providing New Yorkers with the tools to find local or virtual services quickly, and we are removing unnecessary obstacles that have prevented so many in need from accessing critical, and often lifesaving, mental health care."
The site will help users locate state-licensed programs and city-contracted services, including affordable options for a variety of behavioral health needs such as:
- Outpatient clinics for adults, youth, and families
- Rehabilitation services
- Peer support and care coordination
- Programs for housing, food security, and legal assistance
- Crisis intervention services
- Support for intellectual and developmental disabilities
Funding for the service comes from the New York State Office of Mental Health, with ongoing maintenance provided by the city.
For immediate support, individuals in crisis can contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by calling 988, available 24/7.
