Aidan’s Light to Host Mental Health Fair and Documentary Screenings in Austin

AUSTIN, Minn. – Aidan’s Light, a Kasson-based non-profit organization, will host a mental health fair along with screenings of the documentary My Ascension on Monday, Oct. 5. The fair is set to occur at the Knowlton Auditorium at Austin High School, while screenings will also be held at Austin Middle School, Blooming Prairie High School, and Southland High School.

My Ascension chronicles the story of Emma Benoit, who survived a suicide attempt at 16 and now advocates for mental health awareness and suicide prevention among youth across the country.

Founded by the Hegge family after the loss of their son Aidan to suicide, Aidan’s Light supports various mental health initiatives, provides assistance to families impacted by suicide, and offers scholarships to graduating seniors at Kasson-Mantorville High School.
