Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center (BMC) is celebrating 35 years of delivering behavioral health services. Established in 1991, the center initially served patients in Redlands, but has since extended its reach across the Inland Empire, including Murrieta and Rancho Cucamonga.

Over these three and a half decades, BMC has focused on addressing the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of its patients. The center offers a range of services, including inpatient, outpatient, and crisis support. Edward Field, vice president of BMC, emphasized the center's role in fulfilling Loma Linda University Health's mission: "For 35 years, Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center has played an important role in advancing...making man whole. Through compassionate, whole-person behavioral health care, the BMC has brought hope and healing to individuals and families across our region."
The center's expansion reflects a commitment to improving access to behavioral health services and meeting the evolving needs of the community. Moving forward, BMC plans to enhance its offerings, including the opening of a new EmPATH unit for individuals in behavioral health crises. Furthermore, the center is set to expand its youth inpatient services next summer by adding more beds in the Hinshaw Tower, aimed at better serving children and adolescents in need of mental health care.
