Recovery Fair Scheduled by Community Mental Health and Wellness Coalition

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Community Mental Health and Wellness Coalition will host a recovery fair on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at IX Park. The event will feature local health organizations, including UVA’s Office of Pain Management and Opioid Stewardship, as well as Region Ten’s community-based recovery support services, which will provide resources, Narcan, and food.

Paige Dipiro, the coordinator for the Community Mental Health and Wellness Coalition, stated that the event is designed for individuals on their recovery journeys, encompassing those addressing mental health challenges as well as substance use issues. "It’s really about reaching out for support, acknowledging that you’re struggling, and centering your needs and your wellness," Dipiro said.

Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to view the documentary “Untreated and Unheard,” which explores the addiction crisis in America. The event is free and accessible to anyone involved in the recovery process.
