Organizers emphasize the importance of connection, compassion, and community in assisting those affected by mental health conditions. According to NAMI El Paso, one in five individuals experiences a mental health issue each year. The funds raised during the walk will support the organization’s free local programs, education, advocacy, and support services.

Isidro Torres, executive director of NAMI El Paso, stated, “Looking at the mental health landscape today, the need has never been greater. For 40 years, NAMI El Paso has stood with individuals and families in our community affected by mental illness.” He noted that each participant helps strengthen support and connection for those impacted.

NAMIWalks events are held in over 200 locations across the country, bringing together communities to raise awareness and promote mental health services.
