Oura and Resmed announced a collaboration aimed at enhancing access to sleep health education and care, with the goal of improving sleep quality and overall health for individuals. Recognizing sleep as a critical aspect of long-term health, the partnership seeks to address the common tendency to overlook early signs of sleep issues, which often delays the search for support or clinical intervention.

The Oura Ring monitors nighttime breathing patterns and alerts users through its app when it detects increased breathing disturbances, advising them to consult a healthcare provider. Through this partnership, Oura users can now access a range of trusted sleep health resources from Resmed, including a sleep assessment, educational materials, and a guide for discussions with their doctors. Members also have the option to connect virtually or in-person with independent healthcare providers.
According to Resmed's 2026 Global Sleep Survey, the use of wearable technology for sleep tracking is on the rise, increasing from 16% of adults in 2025 to 53% in 2026. Insights gained from devices like the Oura Ring are crucial for understanding sleep patterns, encouraging users to engage in informed dialogues with healthcare providers about potential sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It is noteworthy that approximately 80% of individuals with OSA remain undiagnosed, despite the condition's serious health implications, which can include elevated risks of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, depression, and cognitive decline.
Undiagnosed OSA often leads to long delays in receiving care, during which time health conditions may worsen. By helping Oura members identify early signs of sleep concerns and facilitating access to appropriate care, the partnership with Resmed aims to address sleep health issues proactively.
Oura members experiencing significant breathing disturbances can benefit from Resmed's resources, which include:
- Educational resources and a sleep assessment to gain insights into their sleep health.
- The ability to connect with healthcare providers for personalized care.
- Informational guides to aid conversations with their healthcare providers.
The integration of consumer-generated health data with Resmed’s resources is designed to empower users to take proactive steps regarding their sleep health. Available since April 28, this initiative specifically targets Oura Ring Gen3 and Gen4 members with active subscriptions in the United States.
