Routt County, in recognition of September as Suicide Prevention Month, will offer a free training session titled "Changing Our Mental and Emotional Trajectory" on Tuesday, September 29. Known as COMET training, this program equips individuals with tools to assist those in need of mental health support. It emphasizes the rural values of community, stressing the importance of neighbors helping neighbors.
The update highlighted that “COMET empowers you to be a steward of your community, preparing you to respond when friends and neighbors have mental health needs — especially before they reach a point of crisis.”
Open to the public, the training includes light refreshments. Participants are encouraged to register in advance, although walk-ins are permitted.
