UHS Opens New Behavioral Health Facility in Missouri; Blackbird Health Expands into Maryland

Coleby Wright, CEO of Three Trails Behavioral Hospital, emphasized the importance of expanding behavioral healthcare capacity for healthier communities. He stated that the facility was designed to deliver safe, high-quality care for individuals at various ages and stages of life, thereby increasing access to specialized treatment within the Western Missouri healthcare community.

In addition to the new facility, UHS has also recently made significant moves to enhance its outpatient services, such as acquiring the virtual behavioral health provider Talkspace for $835 million to reach a broader patient base seeking outpatient care.

Brightline Health has opened its fifth clinic in New York state in Albany, offering hybrid care that includes both virtual and in-person options in locations like Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, and Westchester. The centers provide a range of services from therapy to psychological testing for conditions including autism, ADHD, and anxiety.

Initially launching as a fully virtual provider, Brightline shifted to a hybrid model in 2024, based on increased demand for in-person services following the COVID-19 pandemic. Founder Naomi Allen noted that many families prefer in-person care for younger children and those with specific attention challenges.

AspenRidge Recovery has launched a new mental health center in Denver, Colorado, offering targeted care for mood disorders, PTSD, anxiety, personality disorders, and addiction. The center provides day treatment, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient therapy, alongside psychiatric and medical services.

Ideal Option has opened a new medication-assisted treatment (MAT) center in Medford, Oregon, to address substance use disorders. Zachary Gould, the community and law enforcement outreach manager for Ideal Option in Oregon, pointed out that the clinic offers Jackson County residents low-barrier access to treatment in a judgment-free environment.

Founded in 2012, Ideal Option has grown to over 80 clinics across nine states, providing MAT services.

Blackbird Health has expanded into Maryland by opening new locations in Frederick and Gaithersburg. Dr. Michael Tang, the chief medical officer at Blackbird Health, highlighted the importance of comprehensive pediatric mental health care, which can address overlapping issues such as anxiety, attention difficulties, and behavioral concerns. The provider utilizes a hybrid model offering diagnostic evaluations, neuropsychological testing, therapy, psychiatry, and medication management.
