The Camilla Foundation will hold its third annual event, "Cultivating Hope: An Evening for Children's Health," on Tuesday, October 6, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Botanic Garden of Georgia Southern University. Open to the public, the fundraiser aims to raise awareness of the mental health needs of children and families in Bulloch County while generating funds to ensure local children can access counseling and support regardless of financial circumstances.

Established to eliminate barriers to mental health services for children and adolescents in Bulloch County, The Camilla Foundation currently provides no-cost counseling services to eligible youth aged 3–17 living in the area, including both community-based and school-based options.

Charlene Lamar, executive director of The Camilla Foundation, stated, "Our goal is simple: When a child in Bulloch County needs help, barriers such as cost, transportation or access to a provider should not stand in the way of receiving care. It is incredibly meaningful work, and it is possible because our community continues to believe in these children and invest in their well-being."

Since its formation, the Foundation has expanded its services through partnerships with local schools, nonprofit organizations, health providers, and other agencies. The increase in counseling programs reflects the ongoing need for accessible youth mental health services in the county and demonstrates the impact of community collaboration.

The Cultivating Hope event is more than a fundraising effort; it is an opportunity for attendees to learn about the Foundation's history, the children and families it serves, and the future work that remains. Lamar emphasized, "Every person who attends, gives, partners with us, or simply helps spread the word becomes part of making mental health care more accessible for children in Bulloch County."

Proceeds from the evening will bolster The Camilla Foundation's initiatives to eliminate barriers to mental health services for children in the region. For those unable to attend, donations can be made to support the Foundation's work.
