Spurwink has established a new Lewiston Crisis Center, which opened this week, to enhance access to 24/7 behavioral health crisis services for individuals aged 14 and older. Located at 1155 Lisbon Street, the center will serve residents of Androscoggin County and nearby areas.

The center provides various services, including crisis assessments, medication management, nursing services, peer support, and short-term stabilization for those facing mental health challenges, substance use issues, or other urgent behavioral needs. It aims to offer a voluntary alternative to emergency department visits and other crisis response settings. Additionally, staff members will assist clients in connecting to ongoing services and recovery support.
Eric Meyer, president and CEO of Spurwink, emphasized the importance of accessible support during crises, stating, “Every person deserves access to compassionate support during times of crisis. The Lewiston Crisis Center represents an important investment in our community and will help ensure that individuals and families have access to care when and where they need it most.”
To support both capital and operational expenses for the center, Spurwink received a $3.5 million contract award from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. According to the 2026 Mainebiz Giving Guide set to publish on September 28, Spurwink reported total revenue of $96.3 million in its latest tax filing.
