Professor Vari M. Drennan, the RCN's chairperson on the History of Nursing Forum, highlighted that the study aims to uncover significant insights regarding the role of night shift work for nurses. She emphasized that a deeper understanding of the history and context surrounding night shifts would enhance support for nursing staff throughout the UK, in line with the RCN's efforts in policy and professional guidance.
