Morimin aims to provide a consistent nutrient profile while retaining the benefits of the whole leaf. The formulation is designed to deliver essential minerals, dietary fiber, plant protein, and various beneficial plant compounds, making it suitable for products in the nutrition sector. Traditionally consumed in India as sahjan or drumstick leaves, Moringa has gained popularity as a health supplement, prompting Greenspace Herbs to enhance its appeal by emphasizing safety, stability, and preliminary research.
Unlike conventional Moringa powders made from dried leaves, Morimin combines both whole-leaf powder and a concentrated extract. This formulation allows for a broader range of nutrients while ensuring a consistent concentration of compounds such as polyphenols and flavonoids, according to the company. Greenspace Herbs claims that Morimin contains approximately 2,218 mg of calcium, 2,905 mg of potassium, 1,483 mg of magnesium, and 13.3 mg of iron per 100 grams, along with 18 grams of protein and dietary fiber, without added sugars.
Prior to its launch, Morimin underwent rigorous safety and stability assessments, including an acute oral toxicity study that indicated no signs of toxicity at levels up to 5,000 mg per kilogram of body weight. A stability study confirmed that the product maintained its integrity over time. In a small human study involving 10 healthy adults, subjects reported no adverse effects and experienced reduced fatigue after daily supplementation of 300 mg for 30 days, although the findings need further investigation due to the study’s limited sample size.
The research findings supporting Morimin's safety and nutritional benefits are currently under peer review for publication. Shafiulla Hirehal Nuruddin, Founder and Managing Director of Greenspace Herbs, emphasized the company's commitment to merging traditional Moringa usage with modern scientific validation. The firm hopes to position Indian botanical ingredients favorably in international markets, anticipating that quality, specification consistency, and evidence of efficacy will be critical for gaining market traction.
Greenspace Herbs’ manufacturing and R&D operations are based in Magadi taluk, Karnataka, ensuring a comprehensive process from sourcing to quality testing to maintain product consistency. With an increasing global demand for plant-based ingredients, the success of Morimin will depend on its performance in finished products and the robustness of supporting evidence.
