Participants, both familiar and new, often greet each other warmly, creating an inviting atmosphere where everyone feels encouraged to share their stories. A long-time attendee noted, "Coming to these meetings has helped me a lot. I have depression and have gone through periods of therapy and support, but coming to these meetings is like recharging the battery. They help keep me on the right track."
Discussions in past meetings have ranged from decompressing and setting boundaries to exploring family dynamics, including reflections on their own upbringings and concerns for their children’s futures. Many participants carry various roles—father, husband, son—which add layers of responsibility that can feel overwhelming.
Jeremy Grissom, who coordinates the monthly group, shared personal experiences and reinforced the challenges men face. He emphasized the importance of making decisions and recognizing their consequences, stating, "Things are hard, but we can do hard things. We have every tool to do what we need to do. Whether you face it or not, there’s an outcome to that. Something’s gonna happen; it’s coming."
