Grain Foods Foundation Expands Scientific Advisory Board with New Appointments

The Grain Foods Foundation (GFF) has appointed two new members, Dr. Ginnefer Cox and Dr. Wesley Tucker, to its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). This board consists of a diverse group of recognized experts in fields such as nutrition, exercise physiology, public health, and food science who guide GFF's research initiatives and ensure the accuracy of its educational programs.

Executive Director Erin Ball highlighted the significance of the SAB, stating that their expertise enables GFF to provide guidance based on credible, peer-reviewed science. She emphasized that both Dr. Cox and Dr. Tucker will enhance the foundation's capability to adapt to evolving nutritional science. Dr. Cox brings expertise in sensory science and culinary applications, while Dr. Tucker specializes in exercise physiology and cardiovascular health.

Dr. Cox serves as an associate professor at the University of Georgia, directing the Culinary Science and Nutrition Program. As a registered dietitian with a culinary arts background, her research focuses on improving the acceptability of health-oriented foods using sensory evaluation methods.

Dr. Tucker is a faculty member at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's Department of Nutrition Sciences. His research addresses nutrition and exercise interventions related to cardiovascular diseases. With more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, he aims to communicate evidence-based nutrition science effectively.
