The Triton Health and Wellness Building at UC San Diego, which opened in mid-July 2026, represents the largest investment in student health services in the campus's history. Over 17,300 students have used the facility, which integrates various health and well-being services in one location.

A new Self-Arrival option was recently introduced, allowing 52 percent of students to check in using their phones or kiosks. Additionally, a well-being lounge was added on the first floor in early October, providing a space for students to relax and reflect before appointments.

The facility includes primary and urgent care, mental health support, physical therapy, preventative programs, optometry services, and a pharmacy. It combines Student Health Services, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Health Promotion Services, and the College Mental Health Program for easier access to care.

The top floor is dedicated entirely to mental health services, featuring CAPS and the College Mental Health Program from the Department of Psychiatry. This floor emphasizes early intervention and stigma-free support. The reception area has been named the Gilbert J. Martin Foundation Patient Lounge in recognition of a significant donation aimed at promoting compassionate mental health care.

The building is not limited to students; UC San Diego Health's Primary Care and Occupational Health services are also available to faculty, staff, and the local community. The first patient seen on opening day was a campus leader, highlighting the accessibility of quality health care on campus.

Faculty and staff covered by UC Blue & Gold, UC Care, and UC HealthSavings+ plans can now visit a UC San Diego Health primary care physician at the new facility.
