Attendees will have access to mobile CARE Court services, behavioral health resources, medical assistance, and housing support. According to a statement from the City of Victorville released on September 30, the fair aims to connect residents with resources available under California’s Community Assistance, Recovery, and Empowerment (CARE) Act, along with additional supportive services.

Family members, friends, and service providers are encouraged to attend to learn about resources and assist individuals who may qualify for mental health services.

The CARE Act is designed to help adults aged 18 and older with conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder access necessary treatment and support services. It provides a community-based approach to treatment as an alternative to hospitalization or conservatorship.

The Mental Health Resource Fair will also feature various community organizations and government agencies offering information on medical care, housing assistance, and more. Participating organizations include the City of Victorville Homelessness Solutions Team, the San Bernardino County Office of Homeless Services, and U.S. Vets, among others.

The goal of the event is to enhance access to services by bringing multiple agencies and community partners together at one location. For further details, residents can reach out to William Lamas at 760-955-5282.
