The Bulgarian rock band Tangra has unveiled a new version of their classic song "Insomnia," originally associated with the distinct voice of Chochо Vladovski. The song, composed by Boris Karadimchev with lyrics by Alexander Petrov, is being reintroduced to modern audiences without compromising its essence. Alongside Mudolov, band members Dani Ganchev, Ivo Chalakov, Stefan Popov, and Valeri Grigorov-Rio contribute to the new arrangement, preserving its legendary spirit.
"Insomnia" has become a staple in Tangra's live performances, eliciting strong reactions from fans, which motivated the band to officially record it. Mudolov's connection to Tangra began when band members Kostyo Markov and Dani Ganchev heard him perform the song at a tribute concert for Petrov's 60th birthday at Bulgaria Hall in Sofia. Mudolov recalls that he was introduced to the band by Mitko Karnev, who recommended him due to concerns over who would perform this treasured song.
Ganchev noted that Mudolov's performance was a perfect fit, highlighting, "This is the man!" As part of the new lineup, Bobby has become integral to the band, with "Insomnia" frequently opening their concerts.
Fans can look forward to hearing the new version live at Tangra's upcoming concert on October 1 at Kabana Cinema in Sofia.
